Regular Payments.

Set up regular payments and never miss your 10% Prompt Payment Discount*. Plus, get an extra 2% off when you pay by Direct Debit and receive your bill by email.

Direct Debit is a hassle-free way to pay your power bill each month. Plus, you’ll receive an additional 2% off when you also receive your bill by email.

Setting up a Direct Debit is easy, here’s how you do it:

Pay Online

For residential customers, head to Bills & Payment in My Account, then scroll down to 'Regular Payment' and add your bank details.

Business and residential customers can download a Direct Debit authority form and post it back to us at:

Pay your bill with your credit card and make the most of your credit card rewards scheme. You can set up a recurring* credit or debit card payment online in My Account (Visa, Mastercard only).

*A 0.71% surcharge applies to recurring credit / debit card payments).

Please note that credit/debit card transactions are not available for large commercial accounts i.e. time of use supplies.


Manage automatic payments all from your banking app, it’s that easy. Simply authorise your bank to make an automatic payment at regular intervals (this can be monthly to coincide with your bill).

Please ensure you set the intervals to cover your monthly bill. To download an automatic payment authority form click here.

Make sure you fill it in and return it to your bank to get started.

One-Off Payments.

Keep it flexible with one-off payments that suit your needs.

It's simple, add Mercury to your payee options and when your monthly bill comes due, transfer the payment.

Here’s some key info you’ll need for internet banking purposes:

Particulars: Add your Mercury account number here.

Code: Be sure to include your first two initials and your surname (or your business name) here e.g. JT Smith or JT Business Ltd.

You may pay your bill over the counter at various NZ Post locations. Payments can be made in cash or eftpos and will cost $1.50 each time.

You can set up a one-off* payment online in My Account (Visa, Mastercard only).

*A 1.5% service fee applies to one off credit /debit card payments.
